Thanks again, guys~! :heart:

~~~
So my dating sim, Lucky Rabbit Reflex, was released a little while back (I'm going to keep plugging this until it kills me!). If you'd like a shot at winning a free copy of the game, I'll be holding a fanart contest between now and the 19th of August, with all entrants receiving a 15% discount and the winner(s) getting some free game goodness. If you're up for it, please send your entries to admin at luckyrabbitreflex dot com or send me a note to your entry if you post it on deviantart. Be sure to check out the demo available over at the official site for references!
In other news, hopefully I should actually have something to submit at some point. Maybe. Hopefully? :flirty:
Lucky Rabbit Reflex! - Now on Sale~
Journal Entry: Fri Jul 22, 2011, 4:57 PM
Just a quickie, but that dating sim I've been working on for approx. one million years is now on sale! It's the end of an era. Please check it out! ;)
Watch the trailer!
Hopefully I'll actually be able to submit something soon! I got halfway through a Legend of Zelda pic and everything. Watch this space!
Silly DA...
...I'm obviously Team Jasper. :P
(Oh god, I don't update my journal in over a year, and this is the first thing I post? Oh, my...)
Still plugging away with the Dating Sim - hopefully once that's over with, I'll actually submit something here, I dunno. I even had a Twilight comic lined up, would've been ace!
Hurr. Not sure it really counts, as I don't have anything to submit now either (but, uh, new journal layout, look! Bloody DA changing its layout every five seconds, goddamn), but eh.
B-but if anyone's still watching me after my 5-month-or-so absence, fear not (and thankyou! :D) - I have actually been working on something! ...Which isn't finished, and probably won't be for a looooong, long time. But for want of anything decent to post...
I have a vaguely-CatO'Nine-related Dating Sim in the works! Progress has been pretty slow so far, but there's a (very cut-down) demo available at that link, and hopefully I'll be able to put out a proper, meatier demo in a few weeks. Here's hoping, eh? If any dating sim aficionados could give me some tips, it'd be greatly appreciated - I really don't have much experience playing them, let alone making them... :O
In other news, still knocking about Tokyo, which is still awesome, though the magic kinda wore off a while ago (karaoke will always be awesome, however. :D). Can't believe I've been here five months and still haven't set foot in Akihabara. And I call myself a geek. :O
And, uh, I do actually have a Zelda (well, Smash Bros) comic drawn up! God knows whether it'll actually see the light of day this time, though - I have a previous attempt from possibly over a year ago now rotting away on my hard drive, so I'm not holding my breath, to be honest. Here's hoping...?
Thanks as always for all comments and faves! :heart: I'll try to get replying to them at some point...!
...So Japan is pretty goddamn awesome.
Japanese TV, on the other hand? Not so awesome. If you don't want to watch random cooking celebrities or, uh, the news, you're kinda screwed. I swear, if I hear another 'oishiiiii~!' I'm gonna have to punch something. :B
Also, bikes. Lots and lots of bikes. On the pavements. It'd probably be safer just to walk in the road, tbh. :D I can't actually ride one ( *cough* ) but I get the impression that Tokyo isn't really the place to learn... :3
But yeah, apart from all that (plus my inability to say much more than 'konneecheewa' most of the time - who'd have thought I'd been studying for two years, eh? ...*sobs* ), loving Tokyo so far. :heart: Haven't been to an insane amount of places yet, but what little I've seen of Shibuya was awesome, and uh, Harajuku was gaijin-central. Huzzah for engrish! :3 And I still need to see Ponyo, which is inexplicably still on at the cinema here (it's been out since like June, srsly) - I already know pretty much all the lyrics to the theme song thanks to karaoke... :heart: ('lyrics' in the loosest sense, tbh. Pyo~n pyo~n indeed >_> ).
*goes back to watching Clannad, which is for some reason on at 2am* :B Never seen it before, so it doesn't make much sense in Japanese, but I'll be damned if it ain't cute. :heart:
...what? I'll have you know my taste in music is fabulous!</a> :heart:
Current obsession: Korean MMO shooter S4 League, which is very awesome despite my being incredibly bad at it. *shoots randomly across the screen*
Also attempted to download Audition. Was incredibly bad at it. Never played again. :B
Would be playing S4 right now, but for some reason the game server decides to kick me off halfway through each match... :( *actually managed to score touchdowns the last couple of times, too!*
...*cough*. I wanted to post something decent to break my three-month (almost :O) hiatus, but this journal header'll have to do... (felt like drawing school uniforms after watching Whisper of the Heart for the first time - brilliant film, btw. Probably my second favourite Ghibli film after Totoro. *hums Country Roads* )
*has been dossing around for the last three months and cant think of anything interesting to write, but here goes:*
-Saw The Dark Knight last week - not too shabby, I must say, though I'm not really a Batman fan. Bit too much Mob coverage, though. *forgets who the guy from Hong Kong is halfway through*
-Also saw Wall-E - also good, though I'm beginning to resent having the whole environment thing shoved down my throat in EVERY GODDAMN MOVIE. I mean, I knew it was gonna be about the environment beforehand, but some of the lines towards the end were SO VERY CHEESY. 'I don't wanna survive... I wanna LIVE!' >_>
-Luckily, Wanted was awesome, god damn.
-Spent an ungodly amount of time playing Final Fantasy Tactics A2 - so, so good. Crap story, though (seriously, it's even worse than the first one's 'you don't understand, my hair is white oh god' ). But hey. Haven't picked it up in a few weeks now, but I was making every character a dual-wieldan' parivir when I stopped, as I recall. :B
-Also spent an ungodly amount of time playing Monkey Puncher, but the less said about that, the better. >_>
-Watched the travesty that was E3, though I literally fell asleep during Sony's conference. Not that Nintendo's was any better. *watches her reason to buy a Wii fly out the window*
...though I still really want to play No More Heroes...
-Created a Sketchblog, because I sketch far more than I finish, apparently. Not much on there now, but it's a start! :B
-And finally, will be heading off to Nippon at the beginning of September. Shitting bricks, jesus christ. >_> *frantically attempts to actually learn Kanji*
So yeah. That's what I've been doing instead of being creative, huzzah! :heart: Thanks to everyone who's been visiting my page in the meantime, and I'll get off my arse and reply to messages soon!~
Ah, Eurovision. How I love thee. ~:heart: Highlights of the night:
A sneak peek at Pirates of the Caribbean - the Campy Transvestite Musical,
Masterful use of English dictionaries,
and EL GODDAMN ROBOCOP. That's me entertained, tbqh.
The UK finished last, as usual - San Marino chucked us a couple points, apparently not realising voting for us is AGAINST THE LAW. >:/ But eh. It was a helluva lot better than our last one, anyway!
Roll on next year!~
...and just as my exams had finished as well. >_> Though on the up side, freedom! *resists temptation to burn her French books* :heart:
Oh man, sunshine! I have no idea how hot it was today, but I managed to go out in a T-shirt without freezing to death. A T-shirt!
...and, uh, jeans. Hur. :flirty:
Not much else to report. Have a French Lit exam on Friday that I resent even having to take, and as such have done no revision whatsoever. *blags plotline of Candide* Finding new ways to procrastinate is fun, however - everybody needs to go read Dogs: Bullets & Carnage right now, as it's too awesome for words and one of the few manga I would actually buy if it were available in english. O_o Read it now srsly. Haine! :heart:
Finally, here's an illuminating Daily Mail article on the evils of videogames. Very informative, but Brain Trainer's the least of their worries - it's that Grand Theft game on the Nintendo that's the worst 'un!
P.s., finally got around to watching Sweeney Todd. Twas overrated. >_>
P.p.s., thanks so much for the positive comments about my characters! Makes me want to actually draw them once in a while, hurhur. :B
[Edit: minor Tales of the Abyss spoilers below!]
Couldn't bring myself to make a new journal - my userpage isn't quite the same without stumpy!Link's giant cat-eyes staring out at me, tbqh! >:3
Hope everyone's having / had a good easter! *is still on holiday / still hasn't done any actual work, despite having exams in under two weeks* >_> but hey. My huge backlog of unfinished games comes first, tbh. Finally started playing Tales of the Abyss after importing the bloody thing nearly exactly a year ago, and shoving bits of plastic down my ps2 to get it to work - it's a bit meh so far, tbh. I think I was kinda expecting a 'Symphonia II' (which I need to buy a Wii for, apparently :(), and what I got was an admittedly similar game packed with lengthy explanations of 'fon slot seals' and 'seventh fonons' and 'qliphoth and sephiroth trees' every five minutes. And I swear, if anyone mentions goddamn Akzeriuth one more time... *stabs Luke in face repeatedly*
Luke's another thing. While whiny!Luke did admittedly get pretty irritating after a while (it's not my fault! It's not my fault! BAWWWWWWW), selfhating!Luke is possibly the most annoying videogame character ever. I mean, I understand that Akzeriuth is this game's Iselia (and lord knows that was annoying enough), but people don't suddenly change from spiky-haired assholes to apologetic pageboy-types overnight!
...plus, bastard!Luke's hair was infinitely cooler. :B
Overall, though, it's not a bad game so far - it's keeping me hooked, at any rate, though I have no idea why: all that seems to be happening is that I'll get to a new place, and then it's 'oh no fonons' and 'oh no Luke's a retard' and suddenly I have to backtrack fifty times to all these crappy dungeons that weren't much fun the first time. >_> On the other hand, Guy is hot. :flirty: There needs to be a Kratos / Zelos type character and fast, or I may well lose interest tbh (though I think I've already met all of the possible party members... :()
I'm currently at the bit where you have to stop various places from falling into the qliphoth (yay pointless religious references! so very deep >_> ), and asch is going on about merging with someone's mind or somesuch (I was wondering what those noises were. I thought there was something wrong with my telly... :(). Any decent plot twists coming up? No spoilers, please! :B
*might actually do some work at some point* :heart:
~~~

SO BLOODY CUTE OMFG

I never buy plushies ever (unless you count the pokemon teddies I got from the pound shop tbqh :3) but I couldn't resist. *huggles his little face*

...*runs out of things to say, tbqh*

Rirura Riruha~

Journal Entry: Wed Feb 6, 2008, 4:21 PM
...*cough*

Bleh. Real artwork to come soon etc etc. *can never be bothered colouring anything in tbh*

In happier news, rhythm-action games are my anti-drug. :D Well, Ouendan / EBA, anyway. I got into Parappa recently, but I'm absolutely atrocious at it (srsly, I've owned various playstations over the years but still have to look at the controls whenever I have to press the square button -_- ) and fail pretty much instantly on every stage. But tis so good! step on the GAAAAASSS???

Ouendan 2, on the other hand, is much easier, thank god. I don't know if I'll get as addicted to it as I did with EBA, but the songs are sooooooo good. O_o I swear, Monkey Magic is barely even english. 'ZA FANKEE-EST MANKEE HU EEVAA PAPPED' indeed. :B (though actually, you can understand the english in the in-game version - it's the original Orange Range one that's a bit wtf O_o ). Personal favourites: Rirura Riruha, Vista, Shounen Heart (I'm assuming the cover version's singer sounding like an old man was intentional? ick :( ) and Julia ni Shoushin. Fun times!

*listens to soundtrack*

In other news, turned 20 last week. Am now officially old. *breaks hips*

In other news, Rogue Galaxy is dull. Nice battle system, though. :3

---

...Yeah. It's like 5am. >_> *so bored*

I really need to submit something decent one of these days! I completely blame my lack of inspiration on the fact that I haven't played any decent games since 2004, I swear. >_> Where are my WindWakers and Symphonias?? If anyone could recommend me anything at least semi-decent, I'd be very grateful. How's Rogue Galaxy meant to be? I've heard it's mediocre, but I want console RPGs and I only have a PS2 and 'Cube. *is stuck in the past*

...*might just give up and replay Symphonia tbh* - I still have Abyss to play too, but it doesn't display properly on my crappy secondhand TV (damned NTSC games >_< ), so no joy there. Shame, since I fought at least one boss and now I can't remember wtf is even going on. :/ *kidnaps Guy* :B

*tears self away from Takeshi's Castle and actually goes to bed omg* (off back to uni tomorrow, just in time for KANJI TESTS which I will clearly fail, having done no revision whatsoever. And 5-hour train ride FTL! :()

But anyway, new laptop tiem! :D Vista is... confusing. How do I do that 'filmstrip' thing with pictures in folders? *types random things into that little note thing on the side* :D

Journal Entry: Sat Oct 27, 2007, 4:22 PM

Almost certainly incredibly old, but what the hell?

...I'm sure it's wrong that I found that incredibly hilarious. XD Almost as hilarious as this, in fact! (most certainly old, tbqh. What can I say, I'm bored. :D)

Still art block'd - it's been like three months now, srsly. That's no good!

...*snicker* :heart:

[Edit:]

asaskjdpsodf. Still not dead. >_< Art blocks are really not much fun. I don't think I've ever had one that's lasted this long, either. :(

In happier news, finally got FFIX working on my PSP after installing a million different things (srsly, DS emulation is just drag-n-drop, man. >_< ). Hurrah! Hopefully some fanarts will come out of it.

Also playing Phantom Hourglass in english - the sneaking sections are actually really fun! I like how you can smack the creepy guards in the face with a boomerang and they barely react at all... :heart:

Oh, and also have the internets now, hurrah. It's incredibly slow, though. Not much fun. *waits 3 hours for FFIX to download* >_<

ARTS SOMETIME I SWEAR

---

Lawl, month-long absences are fun! :D

*is currently back at Uni without internets* - so that's my excuse, anyway. XD America was fun. SO MANY PANCAKES. *is fat* And I always figured Eggos were like, kinder surprise kinda things, but they're like, waffles. Good times!

Picked up a cheap PSP and some games over there, too (Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth for a fiver, tbh :D Have no idea how to play the damn game, though >_> ), though since getting back to Blighty, I haven't been inclined to actually play any of them (plus, Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology is a bit shite. *trades* ). Eh well. *holds Tekken: Dark Resurrection close* Hopefully I'll actually be able to pick up a copy of Lumines for homebrew goodness, though I'm not sure if I'll bother... custom firmware sounds complicated (and if I'd just waited til I got home to play crappy Radiant Mythology, I'd have been able to downgrade much more easily >_< ). *le sigh*

Loco Roco is also overrated. >_>

*is off to the states next week* - hurrah! :heart:

I'm not even sure where I'm going. Maryland, I think? I must admit, I know nothing whatsoever about American states (well, 'cept Florida, which I've been to before - even as a kid, I found Best Buy way more interesting than Disneyworld. :D We never used to have those kinda supermarkets over here, y'see) ... anything interesting there? >:3

Since the dollar is so weak atm, I shall be sure to convert plenty of monies and hopefully buy all kinds of cheap stuff, provided we aren't in the middle of nowhere or anything. :3 How much do used PSPs / games go for over there? Sony's made it practically impossible to import anything into Europe, the bastards. >_< I want my Dissidia! And a few RPGs wouldn't go amiss, tbh. I'd just buy a new PSP, but even with the awesome exchange rate, they're still like £80 and I only want like, two games. And homebrew. :D

Speaking of which, my DS is getting more pimped out by the minute... *buys moar flashcarts* - I'd feel bad, but I swear I'm never waiting months for Ninty to release stuff over here ever again. >_< *holds her EBA close* :) Plus, some DS homebrew is awesome (and legal, hurhur) Colors DS is an amazing DS paint program, fr'instance. (and yes, it pained me to type colours that way. :D Eh wot! )

...Find yourself a big LAYY-DEE + Harvest Moon

Journal Entry: Thu Aug 16, 2007, 6:24 AM

[Edit:]

Thanks for all the recommendations, guys! :D *updates music with actual links to scar you all with* My iPod is slightly less bare now, though I still can't justify not buying the 2GB version instead. >_< Need moar songs! >:3

In other news, the new Harvest Moon for DS came out yesterday (Rune Factory). Finally, an HM with non-atrocious dialogue! :D *has no idea where to get a hammer / axe / any actual animals from, though* >_<

Got Luminous Arc, too. Tis fun so far, if a little fugly. *pines for FFTA2* There's insane amounts of voice acting, though. And it's pretty decent, too! *glares at Baten Kaitos* >_>

*continues listening to musics*
...princess toadstooooool, I know you're frightened, oooooooh~ :)

---

*is in desperate need of music* >_<

I've been downloading all sorts of crap recently in an attempt to fill my ipod, which I finally caved in and bought a few weeks ago after realising what a crap mp3 player my bargain basement phone was (plus, the headphones broke, and I can't order any more that fit from anywhere. Bloody BenQ Siemens and their bloody bankruptcy! >_< ). So... yeah. Can anyone recommend me any decent tracks? Recently I've been listening to:

Fall Out Boy's new album, which I must say is fairly awesome, despite me really not liking that sort of music usually. :B I love 'Bang the Doldrums', 'This Ain't a Scene, it's an Arms Race', 'The Take Over, the Break's Over' and 'Don't You Know Who I Think I Am' in particular. Bloody long titles. >_>

Random Fergie songs. :D Fergalicious and Clumsy are pretty cool. She seems to like singing about herself a lot, hurhur. :B

'Jenny Don't be Hasty' by Paolo Nutini, though I don't like anything else of his. XD

...And other random crap from back in the day - Summer Girls by LFO, which I'd totally forgotten about since it was such a terrible song, but hey. Oh, and a few Mark Ronson tracks, such as Ooh Wee, which I didn't even know was by him, and that Oh My God cover with Lily Allen. OH and Nine2Five by Lady Sovereign / The Ordinary Boys. *runs out* :B

Oh and, of course, Big Girl (You are Beautiful) by Mika. walks into the room, feels like a big balloon... :heart:

suuuu... any recommendations? XD I realise my taste in music is pretty bloody random / crap. But still!

...If anyone has any books they could recommend too, that;d be awesome. I'm reading Night Watch and it's great, but I'm almost done and they don't seem to sell the sequels anywhere around here. >_> I bought the first Wheel of Time book too, and it's good so far. :D

AND FINALLY, thanks so much for the faves / comments on that Pokemon comic! :D *was pleasantly surprised* I genuinely do think it's crap. But hey! :flirty:

...I really dislike that Rhianna song. >_> God knows how it ended up at no1 for nine weeks. Downloading is killing the music industry, etc etc etc. It's also been raining here for two months straight. Coincidence? ...probably. :B

In other news, had a marathon Harry Potter session yesterday and finished the book in the wee hours of the morning.

*Spoilers Ahead!*

...It was kinda underwhelming, tbh. There are only so many woods the trio can wander around miserably before the book gets dull. The fact that they could Apparate didn't make things much better - it kinda turned into a cycle of 'forest, forest, polyjuice potion, forest, JESUS CHRIST IT'S A DEATH EATER LET'S APPARATE, forest, forest, forest'. >_>

The latter half of the book was much better, mainly because all of the actual horcrux-destroying was crammed into like, the last 200 pages or so. I really liked the buildup to the ending. I REALLY liked the obligatory 'Dumbledore explains it all' sequence, even if it was a bit Obi-Wan. I LOVED the whole pensieve bit. Dumbledore was a bastard! >:3 And I loved Harry's final realisation that he'd only been kept alive all these years to die at this specific moment.

...If the book had ended there, it would have been amazing.

Can't say I blame JK, though - it'd be a pretty depressing ending, albeit an awesome one. And they'd have had to change the order of events a bit, and also the nature of the connection between Voldy and Harry - i.e. making it so that when harry died, voldy also died, rather than voldy living keeping harry alive as it was in the book. But still. *wasted opportunities tbqh*

The only other thing I didn't particularly like was the crazy death toll. If they had all been semi-meaningful, that'd be one thing, but the only one I was particularly interested in was Snape's, since you knew some huge revelation was about to take place. The others were pretty ridiculous, though. Hedwig? Dobby? Colin Creevey? Lupin and Tonks didn't even get death scenes. I shoulda guessed Fred would go - what with the ear-shearing thing at the beginning (though I think that was george... ) and his being on potterwatch n whatnot. But still.

But hey, all in all, a good book. XD

...If only for 'GET AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER, BITCH!' >:3

[Edit3:]

Another quick edit - the new Harry Potter movie is muchly cool. :3 Go see etc etc. Not gonna spoil anything, but I'm not sure if it's a shame or good thing that they toned down on EMO!Harry quite a bit - he's pissed of throughout the film, sure, but there's no screaming and crying and destroying-of-certain-offices. >:3

where was my 'I-DON'T-WANT-TO-BE-HUMAN!!!!!1!1!!'? ;3

In other news, I hear spoilers for the last book are all over the internets already. >_> Unfortunately I'm far too addicted to stop coming online until the book is out. Oh well. -_-

SNAPE KILL- *is shot*

[Edit2:]

Found an awesome EBA / ouendan fansite, hurrah! ... >_> I'm sure my obsession with the game'll be over soon, tbh. In the meantime, I'll keep trying to complete Jumpin' Jack Flash on Hard ROCK! - I haven't even been able to do it on sweatin' since the first time, so I've not no chance, tbh. :(

Got an A on Canned Heat on the first go, though, despite it having the most random beats in the world. Damn you, jamiroquai! *shakes fist* >_<

[Edit:]

Just editing links. Don't mind me! :3

(lawl, sorry for spamming your inboxes. :D Please ignore the other journals!... In other news, does anyone know how to make that 'comments / previous journals' bar transparent? It's bugging me... >_> )

...Well, that windwaker CSS had a good run. :heart: So here's a new layout dedicated to Elite Beat Agents, and the huge, red, stylus-induced bruise replaying Jumpin' Jack Flash on Sweatin' has given me. >_< (though I totally nailed it on like, the 10th time, hurhur. :B Well, I didn't totally fail it, anyway. Maybe one day, I'll be as good as this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jzOvl… ...*cradles broken hand* )

Shockingly, the game still isn't out in europe. It came out in Australia in May. It came out in the US in bloody November. >: ( It's like they wanted me to download it! >_> That said, EBA is probably one of the only DS games (along with Phantom Hourglass, which I'm sure is awesome in english - I gave up on the japanese version pretty quickly, tbqh) I'd willingly pay full price for - it's that full of awesome.

Well, the cover of Believe is out of tune. But apart from that. :D

*will continue prettifying her journal when it's less early-in-the-morning* :3
