...I really dislike that Rhianna song. >_> God knows how it ended up at no1 for nine weeks. Downloading is killing the music industry, etc etc etc. It's also been raining here for two months straight. Coincidence? ...probably. :B

In other news, had a marathon Harry Potter session yesterday and finished the book in the wee hours of the morning.

...It was kinda underwhelming, tbh. There are only so many woods the trio can wander around miserably before the book gets dull. The fact that they could Apparate didn't make things much better - it kinda turned into a cycle of 'forest, forest, polyjuice potion, forest, JESUS CHRIST IT'S A DEATH EATER LET'S APPARATE, forest, forest, forest'. >_>

The latter half of the book was much better, mainly because all of the actual horcrux-destroying was crammed into like, the last 200 pages or so. I really liked the buildup to the ending. I REALLY liked the obligatory 'Dumbledore explains it all' sequence, even if it was a bit Obi-Wan. I LOVED the whole pensieve bit. Dumbledore was a bastard! >:3 And I loved Harry's final realisation that he'd only been kept alive all these years to die at this specific moment.

...If the book had ended there, it would have been amazing.

Can't say I blame JK, though - it'd be a pretty depressing ending, albeit an awesome one. And they'd have had to change the order of events a bit, and also the nature of the connection between Voldy and Harry - i.e. making it so that when harry died, voldy also died, rather than voldy living keeping harry alive as it was in the book. But still. *wasted opportunities tbqh*

The only other thing I didn't particularly like was the crazy death toll. If they had all been semi-meaningful, that'd be one thing, but the only one I was particularly interested in was Snape's, since you knew some huge revelation was about to take place. The others were pretty ridiculous, though. Hedwig? Dobby? Colin Creevey? Lupin and Tonks didn't even get death scenes. I shoulda guessed Fred would go - what with the ear-shearing thing at the beginning (though I think that was george... ) and his being on potterwatch n whatnot. But still.

But hey, all in all, a good book. XD

...If only for 'GET AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER, BITCH!' >:3
